Design is critical in software and software infrastructure. In this talk, we look at the application of design when creating products from a software and infrastructure engineering perspective. We highlight the importance of identifying patterns from the product specifications, and how these patterns form the design of the final product. This leads to implementing software and it's infrastructure in a simple and repeatable way that makes way for agile processes when creating robust products.

On Thursday, April 2nd we should be open to learning that:

1. Design turns complexity into simplicity.
2. Design needs patience.
3. Design is a means to an end.

Wes is a software and infrastructure engineer with 16 years of experience working on a wide range of technologies, tools and platforms. His area of focus is working on growth-stage products, solving challenges that involve product growth from a technology perspective. He values taking time to understand a problem before prescribing a solution. He always favours solutions that are based on design principles.
