Craft Compelling Visual Stories: Workshop with Lisa Rothstein
For product managers, getting the buy-in you need can be a challenge. Sometimes what you need to share is too complex or detailed to get through to busy colleagues quickly. And no executive ever came to a presentation and said “Great! Another 75-page Powerpoint deck!”
But what if you could get fast understanding and enthusiastic support for your work, in a simple way that also makes you unforgettable?
You can, with persuasive, engaging, kindergarten-level sketches anyone can draw.
In this workshop – even if you think you can’t draw a stick figure! -- you’ll learn how to use a language of simple drawings that will help you:
- Explain and simplify complex topics and processes
- Make data more human, relatable and actionable
- Get team members and leadership on the same page, co-creating and sharing ownership of ideas
- Forge stronger human connections, especially in diverse workplaces
- Clarify your own thinking and process, and think more creatively
- Get your ideas more easily seen, understood, remembered and shared
Lisa Rothstein had a 20+ year career in business as an award-winning creative leader in international ad agencies on brands such as IBM, Unilever, and Hanes.
She's also a professional cartoonist whose work has appeared in The New Yorker Magazine, Cybercrime Magazine, and bestselling books including the recent How to Talk To Your Enemies: 101+Ways to Turn Hostility Into Peace that was distributed to all members of Congress!
To help business people communicate and persuade visually, Lisa teaches a popular workshop, Drawing Out Your Genius™: Visual Thinking for Communication, Collaboration, Creative Thinking and Culture, which she’s delivered to conferences such as Adobe 99U, the BackEnd of Innovation, Forbes Business Council, Innovation Leader, and to Product and Innovation teams at Bayer, Merck, and Rheem.
We're thrilled that she'll be focusing this session on storytelling for product managers.
