In this travel tech special, we have speakers from four companies at different stages of growth. From travel giant Skyscanner (https://www.skyscanner.net) we have Usability Specialist David Hammill, speaking about the importance of understanding user needs & behaviours throughout the product journey. Stefan Sabev of TravelNest (http://travelnest.com) provides a mid size company view, in his talk about judging whether to keep or kill your product darlings. Julie Grieve of Criton (https://www.critonapps.com) elucidates on the CEO's role as product manager. Finally Martin Jeret describes the challenges & pitfalls he is facing in the earliest days of product development for his new startup BackpackChat (http://www.backpackchatapp.com).

Stefan Sabev is the Product Lead at TravelNest (http://travelnest.com), a fast growing Edinburgh based startup, on a mission to change the way people advertise their holiday rentals. Stefan is an expert in Travel Tech, having previously worked as a Product Manager with travel giant Skyscanner, on their bots strategy.

Julie Grieve is CEO of Information Apps, whose product Criton (https://www.critonapps.com), allows Accommodation providers to publish guest information as an app. Julie identified the need for Criton while working in the luxury accommodation sector and built a company to deliver it. She will give great insight into how Founders are a company's first product manager.

David Hamill is a Senior Usability Specialist at Skyscanner (https://www.skyscanner.net), where he has been advising on user research & product usability since the company’s early days. He seeks to understand the goals, needs and behaviour of Skyscanner’s target users so that the company can make their products more useful and easy-to-use.

Martin Jeret is the founder of Backpack Chat (http://www.backpackchatapp.com), an app to see where your friends are traveling. A recent graduate of Edinburgh University, his product is in alpha. He will be describing some of the many challenges faced so far and highlighting those areas where he currently needs help & advice. Audience feedback will be actively sought.
