We all know that maintaining a product strategy is critical to a company's success, and not all feature requests align with product strategy. But how do you deal with feature requests from customers or prospects when huge sales deals are on the line? Do you say no and risk losing the deal? Do you commit to delivering the feature, even if it means changing your product roadmap? What happens when the next big deal asks for a feature that doesn't align with your product strategy?
As a startup selling software to large Fortune companies, we deal with this quite often at RADAR. I'll share some of the strategies we've used to maintain our product strategy while saying yes to six-figure deals.
