Details
*** This event is an official pre-event to the All Tech Is Human Conference on Saturday November 9th. See https://alltechishumannyc.splashthat.com ***
ThoughtWorks, a socially responsible technology consultancy, are proud to present this workshop on Responsible Tech Tools with the support of Doteveryone, a responsible tech think tank based in London, UK.
Technology is reshaping our world. However, even the best intentions can lead to harm. The consequences of not incorporating ethical thinking can be devastating to our identity, health, business, economics, political systems and our social cohesion.
You have the power to help prevent these when you apply ethical tools. Responsibility and ethics also affect the bottom-line positively. But how can we anticipate the consequences and mitigate any harms of our products?
Come to learn, reflect, and discuss a number of emerging tools designed to help you think through the future implications of the products you are building while helping you to create even better products.
In this workshop, we'll take a look at what Responsible Tech Tools exist (such as Consequence Scanning, Risk Zones/EthicalOS, Tarot Cards of Tech, IDEO AI Ethics Cards, Data Ethics Canvas, Agile Threat Modeling, System Mapping 360˚, Needs and Collateral, Humane Design Guide, Human Systems, Facets and Facets Dive, Responsible Strategy, Participatory Design, etc.), discuss where in the process we can use each tool best, and actually test out one or more tools based on your own product or project.
Important: During the workshop we would like to use concrete, real-world projects/products to apply the tools on. If you'd like us to use your product/project for this, please provide the necessary information which helps people to understand your project/product context quickly here: https://forms.gle/SjzPSzyqsTgCUfm88
Deadline to submit: Thursday, October 31st, 5pm EST.
