NYC Votes 2017 – Progressive Hack Night at ThoughtWorks
Details
It’s election day! Don’t forget to vote on November 7, 2017 when New York will get out the vote for local elections and some special elections on the state level. Find your polling station with this nifty tool (https://nyc.pollsitelocator.com)!
At 6:30p on Nov 7, join the conversation about what’s at stake, who’s who on the ballot, and how can the results affect you.
Aside from discussing the election, we will cover civic data that empowers election information and dissemination. We will talk about WeVote (http://www.wevote.us/) and how this application provides all the tools you need to be an informed citizen.
Mohammed Naeem (https://www.mnaeem.co/), organizer with Organizing for Action (https://www.ofa.us/).will join us and guide us through the ins and outs of this pivotal election season.

DISCUSSION GROUP
Groups centered on learning new things, discussing issues, building networks, and strategizing. Start one through GitHub (https://github.com/ProgressiveHackNight/breakout-groups/issues/new?labels[]=discussion-group&title=Discussion%20Group:%20%3CYOUR%20TITLE%20HERE%3E) or Google Form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSczFsNI1TveZTxEAYUA6wOiwaLDIbFlyqOerM7wkXSb6bWGuQ/viewform?usp=sf_link) (we’ll put it in GitHub)
WORKING GROUP
Working groups are breakouts focused on either onboarding, training, or just having a team setup on collectively coding for your awesome project! Start on via GitHub (https://github.com/ProgressiveHackNight/breakout-groups/issues/new?labels[]=working-group&title=Working%20Group:%20%3CYOUR%20TITLE%20HERE%3E) or Google Form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSczFsNI1TveZTxEAYUA6wOiwaLDIbFlyqOerM7wkXSb6bWGuQ/viewform?usp=sf_link).
