Join us for this trip to Borneo - Malaysia

Climb Mt Kinabalu, scuba dive in Sipadan, check out wildlife during safari and visit orangutans rehabilitation center, challenge yourself on adventure caving at Mulu caves! All in one trip.

Part 1:
Mount Kinabalu via Ferrata Low's peak - climbing dates 29-31 March 2026

Via ferrata on Mount Kinabalu is both the highest via ferrata in the world and the only via ferrata in Asia! Your ascent to Low's Peak (4095m asl) will be made on the same trail as all climbers but after sunrise you will take a detour via a series of rungs, cables, bridges & ladders drilled into the rock face on Mount Kinabalu and access a whole different side of the mountain.
No experience of rock climbing or mountaineering is required but a head for heights, decent stamina and a sense of adventure will definitely help.

Our climbing itinerary will be 3days / 2night in the mountains.
Trip starts and finishes at Kota Kinabalu.
We will be using local company as a provider for this adventure.

Day 1 - arrival to Kota Kinabalu - overnight at Kota Kinabalu
Day 2 - transfer to the national park and start of the track - overnight at the huts in the mountains
Day 3 - Early morning summit and ferrata route circuit - overnight at the huts in the mountains
Day 4 - Descent down and transfer to Kota Kinabalu - overnight a Kota Kinabalu

Part 2 - Scuba diving in Kota Kinabalu, Mabul and Sipadan.

Diving itinerary starts from 1st April:
DAY 1 – 3 Dives KK Marine Park
DAY 2 – Fly to Tawau Stay one night in Semporna (to be arranged by yourself)
DAY 3 – Transfer to Mabul 8am and dive 3 Dives around Mabul
DAY 4 – 2 Dives Sipadan & 1 dive Mabul
DAY 5 – 2 Dives Sipadan & 1 dive Mabul
DAY 6 – 2 Dives Sipadan & 1 dive Mabul
DAY 7 – 2 Dives Sipadan & 1 dive Mabul transfer to Semporna 4pm after diving, overnight in Semporna (Safe to fly after 10am)

Diving KK
Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park (TARP) also nick named the KK Marine Park features five beautiful islands Gaya, Sapi, Manukan, Mamutik and Sulug. This famous marine park has been a marine park for more than 40 years and its marine life is carefully monitored and protected by Sabah Parks. As a result this area is home to thousands of schooling fish, pristine coral reefs, cool creepy critters such as Frogfish, Octopus, Sea horses, Orangutan crabs and much more! We also have some of the larger marine life such as Turtles, Black Tip Reef Sharks, Eagle rays, Cowtail Rays and even during Spring season the Whale Sharks sometimes come and visit.

Diving Sipadan and Mabul
Formed as a result of living corals growing on top of an extinct volcano cone, Sipadan was famously referred to as “an untouched piece of art” by Jacques Cousteau. Whilst our oceans are plundered at an alarming rate, rendering once-famous dive destinations fishless and broken, Sipadan has changed little in the 30 years since Cousteau made these remarks.
This, in part, is due to protection offered by the Malaysian authorities who have banned fishing around the island and only hand out 120 dive permits a day. Because of this, divers must book their trip here well in advance.
A shoe-in on lists dedicated to the world’s top dive spots, divers travel from all over to spend time Sipadan’s resident schools of barracuda, bumphead parrotfish, jackfish and sharks, along with giant turtle populations. In diving terms, it doesn’t get much better.

Advanced Open Water is required for diving in Sipadan!!!

Borneo trip - Part 3
River safari and Orangutans

Join us on wildlife river safari in Borneo on Kinabatangan River + visit Orangutans rehabilitation centre and Sun Bear Conservation Centre in Sepilok.

The Kinabatangan River in Borneo is a prime location for spotting wild orangutans, often seen during river cruises along with proboscis monkeys, pygmy elephants, and hornbills, offering a natural jungle experience though sightings require patience and expert guides for these elusive, tree-dwelling primates. The river's rich biodiversity makes it a significant habitat, especially within the lush, protected rainforest corridors of Sabah, Malaysia.

Itinerary starts from 8th April
Day 1 - Transfer from Sandakan / or from Semporna - in our case (after finishing our diving in Sipadan - check out our meetup for that part of the trip) to Kinabatangan River. Check into our accommodation. Afternoon River cruise to observe wildlife.
Lookout for proboscis monkeys, long-tail & pig-tail macaques, silver leaf monkeys, orangutans, crocodiles, birds

Day 2 - morning river cruise, jungle walk, afternoon river cruise, night walk or night cruise

Day 3 - morning cruise. Transfer to Sepilok

Day 4 - Day in Sepilok - visiting Orangutans rehabilitation centre and Sun Bear Conservation Centre

Evening transfer to KK for Part 4 - Mulu Caves
