Evolution of Data & Knowledge in Project Management. Earn 2 PDUs!*
Reserve your seat for our Heavy Weight PM Speaker Series and earn 2 PDUs!* PM FORUM: "Evolution of Data & Knowledge in Project Management" with Sylvie Edwards (https://www.linkedin.com/in/sylvie4sresolutions/). In this era of Big Data, data repositories and data scientists how are Project Managers keeping up? Lessons Learned are far from being a new concept for individuals working in Project Management, yet it is a subject that most people still don’t grasp or utilize to its full potential. This is probably one of the topics that is discussed more than others in these forums. You would think by now that we would have gotten this nailed down! During our presentation, we will look at evolution of the usage of Data and Knowledge on projects and how we’ve gotten to today. This will include a discussion on the status of Lessons Learned in the project community and talk about the experiences that are still prevalent for practitioners. What is your experience with lessons learned and with project data as a whole? We will discuss what would Lessons Learned look like in a perfect world and also discuss the impact of a new PMI®’s perspective on knowledge addressed with its new release of the PMBOK® Guide version 6, that might give us yet some hope for improvement. Sylvie Edwards (https://www.linkedin.com/in/sylvie4sresolutions/) has been involved in Project Management in a number of industries for the past 25 years. Sylvie previously worked for a top 5 Consulting Firm, where she was in charge of projects in the Information Technology, Banking, IT, Health, Government and Securities sectors as well as a Manager in the Risk Management practice. Sylvie’s involvement with PMI® is long standing including over 12 years on the Board of Directors of a local Chapter where she led initiatives in education, mentoring and held the role of President for two terms. Sylvie is always looking for her next challenge and as such is a continuous learner of all aspects of Project Management including knowledge management, change management, risk management and ethical practices for the profession.
