Structures and systems, lego and complexity (we're back!)

Details
Prototypes and popcorn returns after a long time with a new format, location, and aim: to explore the effects of design, experience, and culture with short open ended talks. We still be bringing the popcorn though!
The first night back will look at the IA and gestalt of categorising lego, and how design can be a nudging element in complexity.
Doors open at 6pm
Talks start at 6.30pm and finish an hour later
Talk 1
What could be more fun than playing with lego? Organising it! Using her very own lego storage system as an example, Zoe Rose will explain some key principles of knowledge management and Gestalt principles of visual grouping.
Zoe Rose works in UX, IA, and education. She is currently teaching UX at General Assembly.

Talk 2
A useful way to view design is from systems and biological perspectives. Tim Elliott will explore how the generative nature of design positions it as the opposite of entropy.
Tim Elliott looks to view the world in an interconnected manner, currently doing so as a Senior Experience designer.

We are also on the lookout for speakers! If you’ve learnt something through making, doing, or designing, then please get in touch. Also, if you have a strong opinion about something in our industry and want to rant at a crowd, that’s great too.
We’re hoping to find speakers with either a strong opinion about something in - or related to - our industry, or people who have discovered something as a result of making and what they've learnt.
We’re not particularly interested in new or old methods and variations on a toolkit. Rambling exploratory essay-like talks on areas tangential to design will be encouraged with extreme vigour.
Get in touch If any of this sounds like you or someone you know!
We hope to see you there!
