At the March 2018 Providence Geeks, we're welcoming Dawn Edmondson and DJ Johnson, professors from New England Institute of Technology, and co-designers of a new breakaway Master's program. They'll share how this program amps up technology and engineering specialists into creative problem-solvers for people, planet, and profit. The Master of Applied Design program is designed for promising innovators in any industry that faces challenges by new technologies, automation or evolving consumer preference. It offers students the practical skills and advanced knowledge required to assess and implement breakthrough ideas, create and manage new ventures and develop supportive environments to produce solutions to complex problems. Through innovative online courses and week-long on-campus residencies that occur twice a year, students have the opportunity to stay connected with online tools, methods and social networks.

The event itself is FREE! Beverages and food are for sale at AS220’s excellent bar and restaurant.

Doors open at 5:30pm. Socializing, eating and drinking up until the 15 min presentation/q&a around 6:30. Afterwards, back to socializing, eating, drinking.

It’s totally casual. Wear whatever, bring whomever, arrive and take off whenever! And don’t worry about eating or not – come famished or full – eating is optional, and frankly, the least of the festivities (that’s not to say the food isn’t good – it’s actually great).
