Hi Elsbeth,

I have more to say than I have time to type it, so I'll keep this short and talk to you later tonight.

First, CONGRATULATIONS!!!  I don't think I can say it enough.  I hope this opportunity becomes everything you wanted and more!  And what a beautiful setting!

Second, for a couple of weeks I've been thinking about what I can do to step in and help.  While there is no way I can do all of the amazing things you have been doing, I can definitely sign on to do at least one Monday each month.  (The tough time for me is during month end at work.)

Third, I would also like to throw my name in the hat to be someone you call when there is an unplanned Monday.  I think there are enough of us who are interested to keep the meetups going every week.  If there comes a week when no one has planned a MNM, please let me know and I will be sure to put something together.

I'm sad you won't be here for the baseball game next week, but I'm going to be sure to see you tonight.

I'm so excited for you!  You'll have to be sure to keep us updated about life on the island! :)

See you soon,

Hello P-Collective Members!
Most of know me and others may not, but I am the Founder of the Providence Collective, and have been running it since October 2008.
I have big news! The unthinkable has happened.....well, not really, but kind of: I have a new job!!! Unfortunately, my new job is not in Rhode Island, but in nearby Massachusetts. While this isn't so bad, it is also a ferry-boat ride away and un-commutable to my beloved Providence. I will, however, be back on most weekends, at least for now.
What all this means, is that I will no longer be able to host the Monday Night Meetup which is the regular event of this group. Most of you know that I have always encouraged P-Collective members to host MNM's and creating Providence Collective events that are interesting to you and that you would like to share with others. In keeping with that spirit, I would like to extend to you, the opportunity  keep the regular Monday Night Meetups going.
Hosting an MNM is easy, and can actually be a lot of fun! Just pick the place, email me and I'll take care of the rest. Pick a place you 'd like to check out, or maybe a place you love a lot and think other people might like too. It's about sharing your enthusiasm for the places and events in Providence and Rhode Island! As I've always said, if you're planning on going anyway, why not put it out there and see if other people would like to check it out too! I can guarantee you, from personal experience, they will!!!!!
Sharing why I love Rhode Island and the City of Providence is the reason I founded this group when I moved back to Rhode Island in 2008. After all this time, and struggle, I still think this is such a wonderful place to live and I love living here. The opportunity of this job, teaching architecture and design, would have been the only reason for me to leave the area. I have waited 7 long years for this opportunity, applied to more jobs than I can count, and have been piecing work together all these years to at least live where I loved to live - in Rhode Island. Creating this group and sharing everything I love about Rhode Island with you, has been an experience that went beyond any expectation I ever had and I am so grateful to have met so many wonderful people and have so many incredible friends because of it. The Providence Collective is made up of terrific people with diverse interests and backgrounds that make for interesting conversation and points of connection in a relaxed atmosphere, which is the reason, I believe, of its success.  That, and having to find your way around Providence and other parts of Rhode Island to places you want to check out, forces you to learn about what is here and most importantly, ENJOYING it! A new member once told me, "I love this group! Its agenda, is no agenda. " and I have heard from countless others, "I always drive by this place, but never had a reason to go, until now."  I hope many of you, like me, have made life-long friends through these experiences and enjoy the connection with others through checking out the different places we go every week. It's uplifting to share what you love with other people and watch them enjoy it as well. It has been for me, and I have enjoyed, most of all, meeting all, or most, of you!
If you would like to host an upcoming Monday Night Meetup, please let me know. We'll start that way. Maybe there will be an MNM every week or every other week, that will be up to you, the P-Collective Members. You can email me through the Providence Collective site and we'll go from there.
Tonight at Chelo's Waterfront is my last MNM for a few months, but I hope to see you sometime soon at an event on a weekend!
Cheers! You are all awesome!
