From: Fred H.

Topic night tonight, Friday, Aug 8, 7 pm at Lenexa Price Chopper:

UNDERSTANDING THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE:    5 THINGS RELIGIOUS PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW.

AND UNDERSTANDING THE CHRISTIAN EXPERIENCE:    5 THINGS ATHEISTS NEED AN UPDATE ON.

After all, we did start out with a few things in common ...

Let's have a real dialogue about this.  Let's have well-spoken members of each group present those 5 things they wish the other side thought more about.  And let's have lots of your participation and discussion!

RSVP at http://www.meetup.com/ProvocateursAndPeacemakers/events/194545292/.  (It helps us know how to set up.)

Presenting for the atheists:  Mark and Kyler Dixon are active participants in local atheist/skeptic groups along with Mark’s significant other, Sharyl, who introduced them to the local community a few years ago. All three enjoy traveling to atheist and skeptic conferences when they have the chance. Mark leads a small marketing and sales operations team for a large financial services company. Kyler is a senior in high school.  Kyler is known for his snide remarks, Mark for keeping the discussion on track.

Presenting for the Christians:  Eugene A. Curry is the Senior Pastor of Park Hill Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. Prior to serving at Park Hill, Curry ministered at churches in Los Angeles and San Francisco, California, and Portland, Oregon. He obtained his B.A. in Theological Studies from Concordia University in Oregon and then his Master of Divinity at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in California. Currently, Curry is pursuing his Doctor of Ministry at the Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Alabama.
