What we're about

About: The Psychedelic Society of Minnesota is a local chapter of a larger international organization aimed at building community around psychedelics. We aim to promote harm reduction by providing educational content to the public about the responsible use of psychedelics, and advocate for continued research into their mechanisms for therapeutic and spiritual uses. We host speaker series, support groups, discussions, social events, and more. Our group doesn't engage in or promote illegal activities during our events.

Membership guidelines: We ask that members, both new and current, conduct themselves according these qualities: sincerity, openness/willingness, interest, experience/use, discretion, and positivity when engaging with other members and representing the psychedelic society. This refers to interactions during the approval process as well as conduct/behavior during our gatherings. We also require all members to have a profile picture to promote transparency and trust in the group. You can create custom photos for each group you are in so only those approved in this group will be able to see your photo. If this is a big problem due to your job or other privacy concerns, you can send a photo to one of the group organizers that we can associate with your profile and membership in the group.

Additions to these guidelines include confidentiality about the content of what is discussed and shared in this group. No one should be discussing what other people are doing, have done, plan to do without the explicit consent of everyone involved. This is especially prudent for new members who are unclear about our policies and purpose. To protect the safety and confidentiality of our members, leadership will start to enforce these policies should anyone be in violation of them. Breaches of confidentiality are relevant not just to people you talk to outside of this private community, but also within the private community. Additionally, if you find access to something illegal, either yourself or hearing about it from someone else, DO NOT SHARE THAT INFORMATION. This includes underground therapists, street drug dealers, or anything that is explicitly illegal. MDMA, psilocybin, LSD, DMT, etc... these are all schedule 1 drugs and engagement with these compounds is ILLEGAL and sharing information about the procurement or facilitation of experiences is strictly prohibited within our community. Note that this excludes cannabis, as it has been decriminalized in the state of Minnesota since 1976, and approved for medical use with a doctors recommendation since 2015 for specific medical conditions. Therefore when it comes to cannabis, we ask members and attendees of our events to engage within the legal limits written in the current state laws.

For those looking for access to therapy and other experiences with psychedelics that are LEGAL, there are ongoing clinical trials using psychedelics, MDMA or marijuana (https://www.psychedelicmn.com/clinicaltrials/), or retreat centers in the US or abroad that may be of help.

Check out our website (http://www.psychedelicmn.com) for a list of resources and information related to all things psychedelics, including psychedelic societies around the world (https://psychedelic.community/), non-profit organizations promoting research and education, harm reduction resources, drug policy information, and local efforts (https://www.psychedelicmn.com/research/) to bring psychedelic research to the Twin Cities!

If your request for membership is denied, you can still be updated about public events and education and harm reduction resources by visiting our website and subscribing to our newsletter.

In the meantime, check out our public website for a wealth of information and resources for those wanting to get involved in the psychedelic renaissance!
