What we're about

We are a friendly club, helping people from many walks of life to enhance their public speaking skills. The club is part of Toastmasters International, a not for profit organisation dedicated to supporting people to improve their confidence and encourage personal growth.

The education programme is a continuous programme of self improvement, allowing you to plan what you’d like to work on and get the most from your membership - it is extremely effective, but more importantly, great fun!

Our meetings include prepared speeches and members provide feedback on how to improve. An impromptu speaking session tests your ability to come up with a short speech in the spot!

We run our meetings in a warm and friendly environment and take a very professional approach to running our meetings, providing variety and opportunity for all to improve.

There are five areas we can help with:

1. Public Speaking
2. Interpersonal Communication
3. Strategic Leadership
4. Management
5. Confidence

You don't need to bring anything special with you - we love having guests at our meetings and finding out how we can benefit them. We have a relaxed dress code and the only thing that we ask is that people are supportive and respectful.

In terms of refreshments, the club has a bar, which serves hot and cold beverages and we provide drinking water during our meetings too.

Interested? Why not pop along as our guest for the evening and see what we can do to help you? It doesn't cost anything to come as a guest, and we're used to hosting several guests on any evening.

If you want to find out more, please feel free to call our Vice President of Membership, George Anderson on 07743 905998 or our club President, Darren Walton on 07899 808001.
