GDG Pune is excited to announce an introductory workshop for Kotlin.
This will be a series of complete step-by-step tutorials to walk you through how to accomplish different tasks in Kotlin, right from Getting Started to writing Android applications and more.
The 3-hour session will cover:
- Introduction to Kotlin
- Variable declaration, control flow, loops, function/method writing
- Introduction to classes
- Visibility modifiers, null safety system
- Type checks and casting
- Extensions
- Lambdas and higher order functions
- Exception handling
- Anko extension
- Delegations and delegated properties
- Interoperability with existing Java code
- Q&A session
The hands-on workshop session will help you write a small app from scratch.
Two active GDG Pune members with expertise in Kotlin are taking the workshop.
- Hardik Trivedi
Hardik works at Globant and mainly work on Android app development. He has an experience of 7 years. Hardik has developed an app in IoT domain and also, an app which operates Drone.
- Akshay Chordiya
Akshay is an Indie and Google certified Android developer with 3+ years of development experience.
Workshop Pre-requisites:
• Attendees are requested to bring their own laptops
• Android Studio should be pre-installed & configured on the machine
• Java 8 should be pre-installed
• Git and Kotlin plugin need to be configured. (If not, request to reach the venue 30 mins prior. Our volunteers will help you install & configure)
