8 transistors to 8 billion transistors- Journey of data
Details
Objective
Data scientists are analytical experts who utilize their skills in both technology and social science to find trends and manage data. They use industry knowledge, contextual understanding, skepticism of existing assumptions – to uncover solutions to business challenges. Data Science and analysis though has become every professional's aim to become in today's world, Data Science existed long back when I started working on data loggers, and computerised data acquisition systems in 1975. My journey was very interesting with mini computers, and switching circuits in 1975, and it travelled, progressed as the computers became more and more ready to number crunch the data and have scientific and statistical data analysis systems. Automated systems based on previous data started coming up . But the real revolution happened when the data was used to create more data in different parametric forms or through the Data inferencing engines. The power of the computers/ supercomputers/ cloud computers allowed to run machine learning / deep learning algorithms and draw as well as update inferences through more data. I am a fortunate one to be part on this evolution/ revolution for last 47 years. I would like to share with you what a data scientist needs to learn, adapt, update him/herself to become a real successful supercomputing / data scientist. This is as a part of my journey from 8 transistors to 8 billion transistors on a chip
and associated technology.
Agenda:
This is My Story session where Jaya will share her 45+ years of her professional journey in a free flowing way and how things have evolved.
About the speaker
Jaya was Site Leader of Pune Design Center and also headed academic relationships for India.
As first employee, Sr. Director and Site Leader of NVIDIA Pune Design Center (PDC); she started with a single vision to make PDC a real weapon in delivery of complex Software Engineering solutions in NVIDIA’s global vision on making difference to the mankind through visual computing solutions.
