Welcome to our November meetup.
Following the success of the Django Girls Meetup (https://djangogirls.org/belfast/) we have decided to come together and offer an extension onto their tutorial.
Django girls tutorial
Sarah Nicol
Sarah is a Archaeological Field Director who is looking to switch over to IT. I'm doing a part time degree with the Open University where I'm currently studying for the 2nd half of year 2. Sarah will be talking about the Django girls last tutorial event as she was a participant.
Primer on decorators
Russell Matbouli
Russell is a Principal Software Engineer at Anomali and will be doing a talk on decorators. Decorators provide a simple syntax for calling higher-order functions. By definition, a decorator is a function that takes another function and extends the behaviour of the latter function without explicitly modifying it.
Extending the Django Girls Tutorial
Stephen McCullough
Stephen is a Lead Software Engineer at Shopkeep and will be doing a talk and a live coding session on extending the tutorial that was offered at the workshop on the 4th of November.
