7 PyData Athens Meetup: Statistics can be Fun

Description

In recent days we are overwhelmed by a plethora of statistics for every kind of day-to-day responsibilities. Many times the interpretation and the results themselves make no sense and are rather confusing.

The presentation aims to introduce us to a series of facetious results in statistical science and some general statistical methodologies aiming on one hand tο entertain while on the other hand to examine some interesting results from a different perspective and to improve our creativity. I promise to minimize and often eliminate mathematical symbols.

(gr) Στις μέρες μας κατακλυζόμαστε από πληθώρα στατιστικών για κάθε είδους καθημερινή μας εργασία. Πολλές φορές η παρουσίαση αλλά και τα ίδια τα αποτελέσματα δεν βγάζουν νόημα και περισσότερο μπερδεύουν παρά βοηθούν.

H ομιλία σκοπεύει να παρουσιάσει μια σειρά από ευτράπελα αποτελέσματα στη στατιστική επιστήμη αλλά και τη γενικότερη χρήση στατιστικών μεθοδολογιών ελπίζοντας αφενός να περάσουμε καλά και αφετέρου να δούμε μερικά ενδιαφέροντα αποτελέσματα με άλλη ματιά και να βελτιώσουμε τη
δημιουργικότητα μας. Υπόσχομαι να ελαχιστοποιήσω εως εξαλείψω μαθηματικούς συμβολισμούς.
