Abstract

There are some things that just don’t belong at work but are rampant on the Internet. Oracle Data Cloud’sAddThis.com (http://addthis.com) sharing tools are not immune to Not Safe For Work (NSFW) content. You've probably heard how deep learning is expanding our capabilities as data scientists and enabling rapid advancements in Machine Learning. To protect our user’s privacy and to reduce superfluous computation/storage we asked ourselves the question: how can we take Yahoo’s open source NSFW neural network (https://github.com/yahoo/open_nsfw)and deploy it to production? I will detail our journey of evolving a python script to a Dropwizard production app.

Oracle Data Cloud is a team and product suite focused on Data as a Service (DaaS). We ingest, understand, and activate petabytes of data per day across many different sources. We activate insights and data sets using sophisticated machine learning and data science to help our customers become more data driven in their business.

We pride ourselves in our ability to evolve core data science and ML into a scaled product, and we love giving our team members outlets to experiment with cutting edge ideas -- like this recent hackathon (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2bxqZFHi8eg).
