Details:
Philipp Schmid: “Introduction to the Hugging Face ecosystem and a hands-on with the new SageMaker integration”
Abstract:
In his talk, Philipp will present the current Hugging Face ecosystem,
including the Hub and the Open Source libraries. He will then do a
hands-on session showing the Hugging Face SageMaker integrations for deploying and training transformers.
About Philipp:
Philipp is a machine learning engineer and tech lead at Hugging Face, passionate for cloud concepts, machine learning and NLP
Letitia Parcalabescu: “Multimodal Transformers promise to handle any kind of data - text and images too! How far do they actually go?”
Abstract:
In this talk, we generally explain what Multimodal Transformers are, while focusing on the visual and linguistic modalities. We explore the potential of these models and present our recent work investigating their limits with a simple counting test.
About Letitia:
After studying Physics and Computer Science, Letitia is a PhD candidate at Heidelberg University. Her research focuses on vision and language integration in multimodal machine learning. Her side-project revolves around the "AI Coffee Break with Letitia" YouTube channel, where the animated Ms. Coffee Bean explains and visualizes concepts from the latest NLP, CV or multimodal research.
