Two speakers for the next event (our last at Pivotal's office - thanks Ian!):
• "Data visualization with Python’s ggplot", Frank Herrmann
• "Practical R for Python Programmers", Burkhard Bloss, A brief introduction to the R statistical language, how it interacts with Python, and why you really do want to learn another language.
Sidenote - a PyDataNewYork is being planned for late November, the Call for Proposals (http://pydata.org/nyc2014/cfp/) is running until October 26th. Go meet New Yorker data scientists and get your talk proposal in.
As usual we'll have beer and pizza (sponsored by Pivotal - many thanks!).
Next month we move to a larger venue, earmark Tues December 2nd for our Christmas move-in-and-have-talks-and-beer event.
