AGENDA

18:00 pm - Keynote (Spanish)
Title: CARTIER-IA platform: a platform for the management of medical data and imaging.

Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is growing in popularity due to its support of to complex tasks in different context. Several domains benefit from the application of advanced algorithms and models to their specific problems. One of these domains is the medical sector, where these algorithms can support disease detection, image segmentation and other multiple tasks. However, the intrinsic heterogeneity of medical data makes the application of AI solutions a complex job. In this presentation, we will review the design decisions taken for the implementation of the CARTIER-IA platform: a platform for the management of medical data and imaging with the goal of applying AI algorithms on the unified resources in a straight-forward way.

Speaker: Andrea Vázquez-Ingelmo received the bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Salamanca, Salamanca, in 2016 and the master’s degree in computer engineering from the same university in 2018. She is a member of the Research Group of Interaction and eLearning (GRIAL), where she is pursuing her PhD degree in computer science. Her area of research is related to human-computer interaction, software engineering, information visualization and machine learning applications.

18:45 pm - Q&A
All questions can be asked using the Youtube live chat.
Questions will be addressed at the end of the keynote.

What is PyData? PyData is a group for users and developers of data analysis tools to share ideas and learn from each other. We gather to discuss best practices, new approaches, and emerging technologies for data management, processing, analytics, and visualization. We approach data science using many languages, including (but not limited to) Python, Julia, and R.
