[19:00 - 19:35] 'Elements of AI Governance' by Ana Chubinidze

Explainability, transparency, accountability, responsibility, etc… These words are often dispersed in AI related papers, guidelines or articles seeking to highlight the importance of various aspects for implementing successful AI models. However, there is still little consensus worldwide to what exactly these terms encompass. The presentation/keynote will explain and connect the dots among these terms, addressing what companies need to consider when setting up their AI strategy. The talk will put it under the socio-technical, geopolitical and economic perspectives.

[19:35 - 20:10] 'Forecasting the economy through news, emotions and narrative' by Sonja Tilly

This talk proposes a machine learning methodology for the automated detection of sentiment-based signals of economic activity in news articles and leverage it to forecast major macroeconomic indicators for 10 diverse economies. It complements the analysis with an interpretability study that identifies those emotions with the strongest predictive power.
