# Discovery Testing by David Winterbottom

Discovery testing is a TDD workflow for effectively building features. It addresses some of the difficulties of trying to use the red-green-refactor workflow to build real-life features. It's not that well-known but deserves to be: for one, it has fundamentally changed the way I program.

David, our speaker, is the head of engineering at Octopus Energy, a new energy supplier for the UK. Previously he worked at a fintech start-up, a digital agency and HM Revenue & Customs - he also helped write the open-source e-commerce package django-oscar. His primary language is Python and he's particularly interested in software design, TDD and the art of writing maintainable software.
