Welcome to the October PyLadies London Meetup :)
Like last month, we will have another book giveaway. The meetup will be recorded so if you can't make it live, you will be able to catch up later via our PyLadies London Youtube channel.

Start Your Quantum Journey with Python and Q#
There's no time like the present to get started with quantum computing, and modern software development tools make it easier than ever to learn by doing. In this talk, I'll introduce how you can use Python libraries like QuTiP together with Q# and the Quantum Development Kit to explore how quantum computing uses effects like superposition and entanglement to solve difficult problems. Far from being spooky or weird, software development tools help make quantum computing accessible and understandable.
Speaker bio:
Dr Chris Granade (they/them) completed their PhD and postdoctoral research in the statistical characterization of quantum devices before joining Microsoft in 2017 as a research software developer. They currently work on the Q# standard libraries, Q# / Python interoperability, and the recent noisy simulator provided with the Quantum Development Kit. Together with Dr Sarah Kaiser, Chris recently published Learn Quantum Computing with Python and Q#, available now from Manning Publications (https://bit.ly/qsharp-book). In their spare time, Chris can be found exploring the waters of Puget Sound by kayak or aboard the Sea Knot.
