Santa Cruz PyLadies Speaker Night: Vicky Tuite
Details
Every four weeks, PyLadies will have a speaker from the community teach us something interesting and/or talk about the awesome stuff they're working on!
The meetup will start at 6, with some snacks and beverages, and the talk(s) will start around 6:30.
This week, Vicky Tuite, Engineering Manager at EVAOS, will talk about her electric vehicle logging system that is comprised of two major parts:
- A $30 microprocessor board with some added components, wifi, additional power, battery backup and CAN bus transceivers
- A web accessible Django App to collect and retrieve the data.
The microprocessor board code is written using the Arduino IDE, which is C/C++ but it is similar enough to Python to be understandable.
