PyWeb-IL #52

Hi! This is PyWeb-IL's regular monthly meetup. As usual, we'll have talks given by group members on topics such as Python, web development, Django, databases, JavaScript, and other related (and sometimes not so related) topics. Agenda:

• Mingling (25 mins)

• Eyal Yavor: Writing production-ready chatbots (35 mins)

• Amir Miron: Ctypes on Steroids: Advanced Dynamic Interaction With C (40 minutes)

• Meir Kriheli: asyncio: Asynchronous I/O, event loop, coroutines and tasks (50 minutes)

This meetup is generously sponsored by XtremIO! XtremIO, a subsidiary of EMC, is a storage company specializing in storage on SSD arrays. XtremIO is looking for software developers, including those with Python experience. Please send your CV to [masked] if you're interested.

Attention: This meetup is hosted in XtremIO's offices in Glil Yam! I'm making it extra clear here so people won't show up at our usual place :)

We'll have a small raffle and the prize will be a license to the PyCharm IDE! Thanks JetBrains!

Just wanted to add that my team uses HipChat, and there are a number of open-source frameworks written in Python that let you interact with it without hassle. We are using the HipChat-centric Will (https://github.com/skoczen/will/) for our ChatOps, but there are others that are cross-platform, with Slack and IRC support, like Arcbot (https://github.com/ns-phennessy/Arcbot). Probably none of them are suitable for the workload of meekan, but excellent for customizing a bot on a smaller scale.

Sorry, we stopped filming the lecture because of a lack of volunteers to do it. If anyone's interested in volunteering, I'll be happy to guide them.
