Join us for an event on introducing two modern database systems and its use cases. We will have awesome folks from Neo4j and Oracle to give us a detailed description of "Graph Database" and "Autonomous Database".

----------------------------------------------AGENDA-------------------------------------------

6:30 pm - 6:55 pm - Food and Beverages
6:55pm - 7:00 pm - Opening Remarks (PyLadies LA + Ordermark +All-Things-Cloud-Computing)
7:00 pm - 7:45 pm - Intro to Neo4j graph database
7:45 pm - 8:30 pm - Autonomous database and Oracle machine learning
8:30 pm - 8:45 pm - Networking

-------------------------TALK 1: Intro to Neo4j graph database:-----------------------

Neo4j leads the industry with its powerful open-source graph database platform. With compelling features and the elegant CYPHER query language, Neo4j provides tools to tackle a wide range of problems ( e.g. Fraud detection, impact analysis, and recommendation systems etc.) unsolvable with traditional approaches. In this talk, Justin will introduce the advantages of graph-based solutions, get a taste of the expressive query language at the heart of Neo4j, and pick up valuable tips to help you get started applying graphs to your own ideas.

Speaker:
Justin Fine, Field Engineer@Neo4j

Speaker's Bio:
Justin’s academic background is applied mathematics and has worked with graphs for over 12 years in many different verticals while consulting at entities such as: NSA, JP Morgan, Royal Bank of Scotland to name a few. During this time as a consultant, his focus was identifying "fraudulent actors" using advanced analytics in NoSQL technologies. When Justin isn't nerding he enjoys scotch, cigars, and reading with his cat Penny.

--------TALK 2: Autonomous database and Oracle machine learning:---------

Overview of what is ML and where is it going? The current state of ML in technology and our society. How ML impact our everyday life and what is the future of ML. We will demo how to build, train and operationalize ML inside the database by avoiding time-consuming data extractions. We will then show you how to make your ML model more precise on larger datasets. And finally, we will walk you through the continuous and active model refinement process as new data streams in.
