Our October meeting will be a talk from Qasim Khalil entitled Taking Down Production with Simple Database Migrations. In it Qasim will talk about ways in which seemingly straightforward database migrations can take down your production server.

Moving on from how, he'll cover the lessons learned from various ways he found of doing this, leading to a set of best practices that can be used by others to do database migrations fearlessly.
