Our July Meetup will feature a talk from Lorna Jane Mitchell on tools for making HTTP requests which can be used for developing or testing any wed-based application you might be working on or with. Lorna said this about the talk:

"For an online meetup where we exist only in cyberspace, what better topic than HTTP tools? In this session we'll take a look at some things you can use to wrangle HTTP, starting with curl and taking in tips on handling JSON, better commandline interfaces, and better not-commandline interfaces. I'll also be showing some of my other favourite tricks including RequestBin and alternatives, and how to use Ngrok to safely expose your local ports. Please bring your laptops, your questions, and any tools of your own you'd like to share!"

Lorna is based over the hills in Yorkshire, UK; she is a polyglot programmer as well as a published author and experienced conference speaker. She brings her technical expertise on a range of topics to audiences all over the world with her writing and speaking engagements, always delivered with a very practical slant. By day, Lorna is a Developer Advocate at Vonage and in her spare time she blogs at https://lornajane.net.

Hope to see you there.

Our sessions are greatly aided by people volunteering to talk, if you'd like to do that, you can use the form on our website https://pynw.org/ where you can also find our code of conduct.
