Details
Exploring Azure Cosmos DB
Cosmos DB is Microsoft's No SQL database offering on Azure. It is a multi-model database service, designed for global distribution and rapid scaling. Originally introduced as Document DB, Cosmos DB is slowly, but surely, gaining popularity. It is suitable for enterprise OLTP and analytics applications that need to handle massive amounts of data at a global scale with near-real response times.
This introductory session will help you get familiar with core concepts such as partitioning, throughput and global distribution. A good understanding of these concepts is vital to designing your Cosmos DB container to scale seamlessly and perform optimally. This will be followed by an overview of the various APIs and data models supported by Cosmos DB. Demo will cover container creation through Azure portal, a sample project, the database migration tool and Cosmos DB change feed.
