This Meetup will explore the many benefits and practical applications of Qi Gong to our daily lives and activities. Qi Gong is the ancient and modern practice of personal health care and wellbeing from China. Traditionally Qi Gong was practiced for Healing, Health and Longevity. Qi Gong enhances the immune system and is used as part of medical protocols to heal from injury, illness and diseases including cancer. Qi Gong is a full body workout experience for all and can be practiced at any intensity level that suits your health and needs — from the ill and injured to healthy and very athletic.

All can easily learn and benefit from Qi Gong exercises, which are pleasurable and fun to do, enhancing body functions, flexibility, joint and spinal mobility, range of motion and strength. Qi Gong teaches healthy body mechanics, promoting healing, preventing injuries and improving balance. Qi Gong movements and postures can be meditative, cultivating the experience of relaxation and being centered and grounded in our daily activities. Often, just 7 minutes of Qi Gong will remove stress, increasing energy and vitality.

Qi Gong is an excellent practice for improving one’s skills in movement, athletics, and performance. It is also used in the Martial Arts, and enhances Spiritual and Meditation practices as well as brings balance and integration to one's emotional life and relationships. You can use Qi Gong practices for whatever needs and desires you may have in the moment.

• Qi Gong, called the "Mother of Tai Chi" is characterized by repetitive, enjoyable, easy to learn graceful motions and postures coupled with breath, intention and inner feeling that stretch, strengthen and harmonize the body with who we are. OUR MARCH MEETUPS — 2nd & 4th Thursday of the Month Thursdays 14 & 28 of March — 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. Just 10 minutes is a great kick start to your day or a cool down before sleep. It is excellent for warming up the muscles/joints before sports, dance and singing. Because of its focus on breath, inner energy and centering, practitioners use it to release stress and anxiety. It's also equally powerful in bringing better rest, meditation and increasing romantic intimacy. This month I'll focus on helping — "Start Your Own Qi Gong Practice." You'll learn several whole body/mind 10 minute sequences. Come join us for the fun of learning a practice you can easily use for your whole lifetime. COST: $20 for 2 hour Workshop. WHAT TO BRING • Dressing comfortably and bring some water. FUTURE QI GONG CLASSES — 2nd & 4th Thursday night of the month are at Intrahealth from 7:30 - 8:45 p.m. ($12) Thursday night classes conclude with a short seated meditation. (Look for outdoor classes in the spring and workshops on the weekends).
