Qigong is gentle, energetic movement available to all fitness levels. It is a moving meditation with an emphasis on the rhythm of the breath. Qigong supports flexibility, strength, balance, serenity, and overall well-being.
As weather permits, we will meet at least weekly in a public outdoor space such as a park. Gathering in a circle, we will practice one of several movement series. Practice includes warmup and gentle instruction, and will last approximately 30 minutes.
I am tentatively planning to lead a group at Altura Park in Albuquerque, where I was first introduced to Steven Ridley's qigong through Loretta Silver. I would love to see this group start up again on a regular basis, so if there are any people interested down there, let's try to get the word out. Please dress comfortably for cool weather. We will meet on the Hannett Av side of the park, for a warmup and intro practice. We will use social distance guidelines, and go 45 minutes to an hour. The event is free, donations are welcome. (For all you Santa Feans, I do plan to get up to Santa Fe during the week!)
