This is the biggest event of our history and we'd love to include you in any ways you'd like!
We are putting on big activities at this year's San Diego Makers Faire, taking over Balboa Park' museum district over the weekend of October 7-8. Check out more information in the press release --> http://sandiego.makerfaire.com/press-room/
We don't just want you there, we could use your help! We're making the experiences as mind blowing as possible for the people coming through, and all our volunteers get lots of fun and perks. Whether you want to help before, during or after, we have lots of options for participating to match your interests:
1) help us design and produce our events. Your work on our projects wouldn't require much time and looks great on resumes or college applications. Volunteer service learning and internships available immediately!
2) be one of our human storytellers for a couple hours. We are helping build San Diego's Human Library Book Collection. What's a Human Book? Someone willing to share their stories and answer questions. Do you have unique stories and perspectives you'd be willing to share with curious strangers? If you're interested in being a storyteller please fill out a short survey to participate. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/sdlivinglibraryapp
One of our co-sponsors is American Foundation for the Blind (AFB.org) and we've got some great blind peeps coming to MakerFaire for the first time to share their stories and be part of the fun! Know anyone who is blind or low vision? We want anyone with disabilities of any kind to know we have special invites for them. Please share this invite with anyone!
We are working to be inclusive at a profound level, with activities suitable for all ages, cultures, and abilities. Please join us! If you can't be there in person, we plan to have online activities too! RSVP if you're at all interested and you'll get more info as we have it.
Post any questions here. More information coming soon!
