This month's topic is nutrition.

Our first talk will discuss the ketogenic, low-carb, high-fat diet Bill used to lose 95 pounds with very little exercise all the while eating delicious fatty foods like bacon, butter, and heavy cream. It turns out that eating fat doesn't cause you to store fat. But carbs do! He collected a lot of data during this time and you will see some of it in the presentation. We will explore the science of fat metabolism and fat storage mechanisms. We'll see that a low-carb diet is more successful than any other diet. While ketogenic diets are most often used as a weight loss mechanism there is a growing body of research where the diet is being used successfully to manage diabetes, epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease, nervous disorders, and cancer.

After a short break we'll have another talk by Uri Moszkowicz. Uri will provide an overview of the Paleo Diet, with emphasis on Perfect Health Diet. We will mostly cover the rationale behind the diet, it's history, and high level concepts. We will end with related topics and applications to QS.
