Re: [QuantifiedSelfLA] Next QS Oct Meetup: Request for Show & Tell volunteers

I'd be happy to share some.

I am using an APP called PACO for my droid phone, which I use to create my own self-tracking studies.  Most of mine are ESM based and self-report, as well as location.

I am using ZEO sleep tracker as well.

I would love to share what I have learned about my life and experiences.  One interesting thing that I had been tracking for about a year is when, how, and why I use my strengths ( as assessed by Gallup Strengths Finder, and Values In Action (VIA) a positive psychology strengths and virtues assessment, and which strengths actually make me feel the best after using them.

I am also a positive psychology researcher at Claremont Graduate University doing a study on Self-experimentation and tracking and can share briefly how my own QS activities lead to the development of some academic research initiatives.

When is the next meet up you think?

Hi Los Angeles QS Enthusiasts!

It's been a while since we last met (hopefully you're not quantifying that stat) and I'm eager to start putting together the next meetup in a few weeks.  I'm hoping to get a handful of volunteers to share their own personal QS story as a show & tell talk.  These presentations (either powerpoint driven, or "off the cuff") can be 5-10 minutes (or longer) that cover a number of topics:

Your own personal tracking experience. Answering these questions are helpful:
  • What tracking are you doing?
  • Why are you doing it?
  • What did you learn?
  • What devices are you using OR What's your favorite quantified self service/app?
If you've created your own "home brewed" tracking system we'd *love* to see what you've done

If you have an idea for a presentation, shoot me an email with the details and we'll figure out the schedule.

- Eric
