Details
If you're into blockchain, you must have heard of Elliptic Curve cryptography (ECC). Fortunately (or unfortunately), you can cast ECC into a period finding problem and thus use Shor's algorithm to compute the private key.
In this series of meetups, we will be talking about elliptic curve cryptography and how quantum computing can be used to theoretically decrypt messages based on ECC.
Outline:
- What is elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) and how do we encrypt messages using ECC.
- Fundamentals of Quantum Computing, Superposition, Entanglement, Operators (Quantum Gates), Quantum Circuits, Using QIKKit to program quantum circuits.
- The Discrete Logarithm Problem and Period Finding
- Shor's Algorithm, Quantum Fourier Transform and cracking the ECC.
