Hello all,

As the Organizer of this group, I felt the need to communicate with all of you the reasons for some of the changes we've made recently. 

Location

We have outgrown the Brewed Cafe location. I know that, for many, this has appeared to be a perfect location. The reality is that it cannot handle the size of our group. We spent about a month brainstorming and checking out various locations. Our new main location, Fixx in Bayview, is the best next location. There are several reasons for this: 1) It is equally as far from downtown as Brady Street is, and is easy to get to. 2) It is free. 3) It has a semi-private room that is large enough to handle around 30 people.

Getting together on "off" weeks

As an organizer, I am only able to come every other week to these groups. I have committed to that, and am happy to do it, but I cannot do more than that. That said, I am happy to have you all meet on "off" weeks. However, I must insist that, if it is going to be organized on this website, only an Organizer put the groups together. The main reason for this is so that there is a point person for each event. Without a point person, there can be problems with the venue, problems with no one showing up, etc. 

Dave has graciously offered to host a conversation group on 04/21, 05/05, and 05/19. After that I am seeking a co-organizer to organize conversation groups every other week. Without that, we will not meet every week.

If you have further questions about this, please let me know.

I know that change provokes a lot of emotions for people, and it is a challenge no matter if it is good or bad change. I have put a lot of effort into these changes, and think that they will be better for the group. I ask that you all try our new location and new method for getting together, and give the changes until June. I am happy to hear feedback during that time.
