What we're about

A writing group. An accountability group. A lamenting and rending of garments group. Every. Single. Week. We'd love for you to join us!

This is a basic get-it-done group. The first half hour we introduce ourselves, discuss our work, and make goals for the week. Then we get right down to writing. Did you know that putting several writers to work in one space creates a kind of bubble of focus and productivity? It's pretty amazing.

There is no ending point. People generally start wandering out around 8:30, but you can stay longer if you're on a roll. On the last Tuesday of the month, when we've finished writing, we wander over to a local restaurant to cap off a good month of productivity.

That's all there is to it!

Monday Morning Writing at Caffè Nero

Caffè Nero

Cozy writing on Monday morning is the perfect way to start out the week. Join me at the usual spot in Caffè Nero, as my travel schedule permits. *** NOTE: This is at the ORIGINAL Caffè Nero in Boston, at 560 Washington Street, NOT the new one on Summer Street. *** I'll get there early and claim some space at the big wooden table by the windows, but sit wherever you're comfortable. "Official" Quite Write meetup time is 9:00 until 11:00, but drop in whenever you like, and stay as long as you like. As for all Quite Write meetups, we might exchange a minute or two of conversation, but we're really here to write, to feed off a common goal to get some writing in among other people wanting to do the same. If you've RSVP'd, let me know when you arrive so that I won't think you're lost. Hope to see you there! Diane

Quite Write: Writing Night!

Needs a location

We start off chatting about our work, including setting goals for ourselves (which is entirely optional but super helpful!), and then we write. That's what it's all about. As simple as the idea is, it's amazing how much more you can get done simply by being in the presence of other writers at work. The baked goods don't hurt, either. There is power for laptops, and some of us use pen and paper. Your choice! Bonus: there's no Internet access, so you can omit a huge distraction without even trying. And, although we are not a discussion group, there are many areas where people can go if they want to talk without being disruptive.
