What we’re about
We are Muslims who gather to discuss the Quran freely using our minds, hearts and common sense. We do not rely on other materials such as the tafsir or hadith (most of the time, there are exceptions). In our group we have Sunnis, Shias, Quranists, Qurancentric Muslims, Sufis, Submitters, People who don't like labels and non-muslims. We are not a monolithic group. Individual interpretations can vary.
People of all backgrounds and opinions are welcome as long as they are respectful and open-minded. We are like a Planet Fitness. We are a judgement free zone.
Please do NOT join if your purpose is to agitate or disrupt the group. We are here for discussion, but not endless debates. If you join for the purpose of agitating people for their personal beliefs, you will be removed and blocked. Respect is paramount.
When you apply, ANSWER ALL the questions on the form. If you do not answer every question, I will not admit you to the group. People in the past who did not bother to answer all the questions were not a good fit for the group. So this policy is based on a 3 year precedent.
