Using MariaDB ColumnStore to analyse large data sets
MariaDB ColumnStore is a new engine technology from MariaDB which is designed to perform analytics processing on very large data sets. This workshop will provide you attendees with a hands-on overview of how to run and use a MariaDB ColumnStore installation.
Andrew Hutchings, Senior Software Engineer for MariaDB, will lead the session. Guiding you through thinking about column based data storage and optimising your data for analytical workloads.
During this session we will setup a single node ColumnStore installation, demonstrate the bulk data insert capabilities and use window functions to get rapid analytical responses from large amounts of data.
All attendees need a running VirtualBox setup with a host only network configured on a 64bit computer with at least 8GB of RAM and 30GB of free hard disk space. We can assist with this setup if needed and you may want to arrive 10 minutes earlier so that we can help with your installation.
We provide USB drives containing pre-configured CentOS images and all other relevant tools and documentation. The sessions results can be taken away for future reference.
The session will run for 3 hours. Please note: Spaces will be limited to the number of workstations in the Quru technical development area so register to secure your place.
Refreshments & pizza will be provided on the night.
