A little about you.

I'm hoping to meet folks who like a lot of different flavors of science fiction. It was science fiction fans who laid the groundwork for the growth of anime and manga in the country. Long before the days of Cartoon Network, fans would tape anime in Japan and show them at science fiction conventions or specialty clubs. There was no dubbing or subtitles. Someone familiar with Japanese would translate or do a running commentary on what was being shown.

Your favorite anime, manga, dramas, jpop, and video games. What first got you into anime.

I'm an old timer who watched things like 8TH MAN and ASTRO BOY on Saturday mornings in the sixties. After college I encountered CAPTAIN HARLOCK, SPACE PIRATE (wish that was out on DVD by season, not the way they released in years ago on VHS).

Have you every been to an animeconvention. If you have which ones. Which was youor first.

No. However, are you aware that many non-Anime science fiction conventions have a room devoted to showing anime throughout the weekend?

What do you expect and would like to get out of this group. What would you like to add to this group that is not already one of our focuses.

My focus is sf / fantasy / horror. There's terrific anime out there which fits into these genres, but there's also lots of non-anime great stuff. Sticking just to animated works for the moment, there ar worthwhile works from the U.S., Britain and France.

Hi, Everyone. I'm a science fiction / fantasy fan of books, movies, TV, comic books, anime, science and more. I run the nearby Science Fiction Association of Bergen County,
