Are you interested in learning how to cook real vegetarian and vegan* food? Indian (Gujarati & Punjabi), Mexican, Italian, Lebanese, Oriental including Chinese, Thai, Filipino, etc.. None of the make-believe vegetarian food that has the texture and flavor of meat that you are secretly lusting for. We can have vegetarian BBQs, picnics, many possibilities...
I am looking for folks that would like to meet on a regular basis and cook together - ideally, we would rotate at each person's place and in the process, learn how to cook healthy vegetarian food, enjoy a meal together or take home. 7 folks maximum. If you are unable to host, share how you can contribute to the group.
There is a cost to participate to cover the ingredients and the class. Cost to have vegan ingredients is higher as vegan substitutes for milk, cheese, butter, etc., cost more than vegetarian ingredients. You get to enjoy the meal after we have cooked or take a serving of what was cooked that day - bring your own containers
There is more information on the FB group which is updated more frequently.
*vegan ~80% of the dishes cooked would be vegan but, if you are a vegan, you need to take it upon yourself to ask questions in regards to the ingredients and not rely on the person cooking it as many folks are unaware of what is and what is not vegan. Just as many folks consider eating fish to be vegetarian. It is a matter of education. Under no circumstances, imposing of beliefs, argumentative stances, causing discord, etc., - about vegetarian or veganism - will not be tolerated and a person may be exited from the group for doing so.
