Winter 2018 Hackathon

Details

The date and location of our next hackathon are locked in - Saturday & Sunday 28th-29th July at the UQ IDEA Hub.

Over one fun filled, action packed, caffeine and sugar fuelled weekend you get the chance to use your technical, business and creative skills to make a real difference helping our change makers. You bring your enthusiasm, laptop and know how, and we’ll supply the fuel and drinks to keep you powering through the weekend hack.

We're looking for 'hackers' who are passionate about technology. We need a variety of skills and backgrounds, but with a definite emphasis on development skills. Our hackers will be working with change makers from the community to create an open source solution for a real world problem.

Who are we Helping?

Variety Group - The Children’s Charity supports children and families who are facing many challenges through sickness, disadvantage or living with a disability

Brisbane Youth Services – Brisbane Youth Services enable vulnerable young people and families to navigate life challenges and thrive in the community

The Good Box - Good Boxes are designed by the homeless, for the homeless. They are purchased by you, to help them, and contain essentials to survive and non-essentials to surprise

What’s in it for you?

This is your chance to utilise your technology skills, make connections, learn something new, have fun and help others. Plus there will be a cool t-shirt, plenty of drinks and snacks!
