Hello ROS Seattle Meetup!
As co-organizers of the group in 2021, Mike Chung and I are thrilled to announce the first meetup for the year. What better way to restart this group than with Open Robotics!
Agenda:
4:30pm - 5:15pm PT: Overview of ROS activities in the community. Speaker: Katherine Scott, Open Robotics.
5:15 - 5:45pm PT: Rust with ROS - integrating rosrust nodes into a catkin workspace using Corrosion. Speaker: Lucas Walter.

Speaker intros:
Katherine Scott is the developer advocate for Open Robotics, the makers of Robot Operating System (ROS) and the Gazebo simulation platform. Katherine is the former analytics lead at Planet Labs and Strateos and was a co-founder of Tempo Automation and Sight Machine. Katherine serves on the board of the Open Source Hardware Association and holds a master’s degree in computer science from Columbia University. You can find her as @kscottz on Twitter
Lucas Walter has been using ROS for about a decade while working as a software engineer on automation and inspection projects, and has given talks numerous times at previous iterations of ROS Seattle.
