What we're about

Our group meets currently at Peak Experiences in Midlothian several times a week to climb. We welcome all skill levels including people who have never climbed before. We want to share our love of climbing with others and we make every effort to help new climbers. We also have several advanced climbers who lead if you are interested and willing to get certified there. Climbing is a lot of fun and good exercise!

Our current Meetups are:

Sunday 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Wednesday 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Tuesday & Thursday 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM

We usually meet around the counter where you pick up gear. If you are arriving after the start time you can ask the front desk and they can usually find us. And don't forget to mention you are with the Meetup group because we get a discount.

We do appreciate RSVPs so please do so (if possible) so we can ensure there are enough belayers.

If this is your first time it is probably a good idea to go to Peak's website and read all rules and requirements. ( https://www.peakexperiences.com/getting-started/the-basics )

Also go ahead and fill out the waiver now. ( https://app.rockgympro.com/waiver/esign/peakexperiences/ede4214e-312e-48c7-b9a3-d0e76d93a5de )

PS: The rumors are that both the new Peak in Scott's Addition and Triangle Rock Club are opening in March. They are both working long hours to get them finished. As they open we will send out a survey to see what dates, times and locations work best for the group. We even plan to have an early morning session (TRC will be opening at 6:30 AM I think and Peak might as well) is the demand is there. So start thinking about the best times for you, especially since we are down one admin and will lose another one soon.

Sunday climbing at Peak@Scor! Yes, it still exists! Come on down!

Peak Experiences Richmond /SCOR

Let's get together and have fun climbing and getting fit without boring gym workouts. The idea is to enjoy climbing with a great group of people who don't mind new folks joining us. So, we get there around 1:00 PM unless we have somebody new to met that we have actually been in contact with. We generally go until 4 or 5PM. You don't have to fit that mould, but you're welcome to stay as long as you can. The group has an amazing collection of knowledge about climbing with several really talented members you can learn from. Basic Expectations: • Be on time! If you say you're going to be there...be there! On time! We look forward to seeing you and this is a partner based activity! • Be helpful, patient, and positive! Everone has different skill levels and everyone should be encouraged to enjoy climbing. • Be a team player! Learn how to belay others safely and get certified as soon as possible. This is key to keeping as many folks climbing as possible. Progress to lead climbing as you're able to. • Socialize and change climbing partners! It's easy to get into a rut with your favorite partner and not change it up. Move around and get to know different people and different styles. ***New Climbers/First Timers*** If you're looking for information on what to expect, read the FAQs on Peak Experience's website. You will need to bring your own harness and shoes or there are rentals available through Peak at a small cost. There is a discounted rate for this Meetup so mention that you are with us. Ask the front desk how to find us...if you missed the section on here...We will be in the horseshoe area...far corner of the gym where the top ropes are... There are two circular benches. Stand around and engage people saying that you're there for the Meetup. :)
