Web Programming: Choose Your Own Adventure!

Details

Experience Level: Beginner - intermediate

Recommended Ages: 7-17

Description: With a few very simple HTML tags, we can create our own worlds and stories. In this session we'll show you how to create a "Choose Your Own Adventure" story. After a very short introduction to the tags you'll need, you can let your creativity and imagination run wild building a web adventure story where your readers help to choose the outcome.

Your web page will live on Mozilla's Webmaker website so you can share it with your friends and family if you like.

You spoke, we heard you! (on typing) We have learned from prior sessions that typing complex code was hard for many young students, and it distracted from the learning process. We will be testing out a new approach to teach without requiring very complex coding.

Computer requirement: This session will be in the 2nd Floor Computer lab.

You are encouraged to have a modern web browser installed. This includes Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and newer versions of Internet Explorer (version 11 and up).

Note: You must have registered for this class on the Meetup Site. Use the "Additional Guest" for any additional children. Parents do not require a registration.

Parents are required to remain with their child during the session. You may not "drop off" your child.
