Scratch Game: Nibbles

Details

Experience Level: Beginner

Recommended Ages: 7-12 (younger children are ok with help from an adult)

Description: We'll be creating a simple game in Scratch called "Nibbles". This will give us a chance to learn a little bit about variables, clones, and the coordinate plane.

This class is geared towards children who are not comfortable typing and/or are new to coding. Scratch is a great first language for teaching how to think like a coder.

To learn more about Scratch check out their website: http://scratch.mit.edu/

Computer requirement: We will be using the library's 2nd floor computer lab.

You are encouraged to create a Scratch account for your child on the Scratch website before the class so they can save their projects and continue to play with and work on it at home. Registration is free, and privacy is maintained: http://scratch.mit.edu/

Note: You must have registered for this class on the Meetup Site. Use the "Additional Guest" for any additional children. Parents do not require a registration. Please print and bring your ticket with you.

Capacity is limited. Without a registration you may not attend this session. If you do not make it in to the session immediately you will be placed on the waiting list.

Parents are required to remain with their child during the session. You may not "drop off" your child.
