Hello Everyone!

During our eighth Speaker Series event, we will focus on the intersection of race and tech.

How does representation in tech play a role in the design, development, and distribution of new tech? What is the experience of a POC in the tech industry? What advice would you give people trying to enter or transition into the tech industry? Should we be concerned about new tech such as facial recognition that could have built-in racial bias? These are just some of the questions we will explore during this event.

Each speaker will have up to 15 minutes each to speak about their work, observations, and experiences regarding the intersection of race and housing. Then attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions directly of our panelists either through chat or via microphone.

The group discussion starts at 7pm, but you can arrive up to 15 minutes early to make sure your technology is working. The Zoom link will be made available to everyone that RSVPs for this event. If the link is not working on this page (or you can't find it on the right hand side of this event page), please check our Facebook Page "Racism Discussion Group" where this event is also posted (please consider liking the page as well). There is a 100-person limit to the number of attendees, so please revise your RSVP if you cannot attend to allow people who may end up on the wait list to get a chance. We hope to see you there!
