• Monday #1 Phone Meeting ** New meeting **

    Louisville

This open meeting is RA's newest and it welcomes anyone, anywhere. It uses a free, U.S. conference call number to meet. Here's the phone number and participant's code:
    [masked] -- participant's code:[masked]#

Please note that the phone number and code are new as of May 10.

We meet every Monday at 9:00 am PT/12:00 noon ET.

Our meetings look and feel like other 12 step recovery meetings. However, while it's helpful to have experience with recovery, it's not required. As we say in RA's 4th Guideline...

"We call ourselves racists because we realize that ours is a racist culture. The only requirement for membership is a desire to name and deal with problems caused by racism, recognizing that we too are often part of the problem."

In order to do this, we'll use Racists Anonymous literature, including the RA 12 Steps, the Guidelines for RA Group Effectiveness and the RA stories written and collected by members of our fellowship. All of that (and more) is at https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Yy0AErTCtRL8n07m_NpmeNO8dBZvVJQ2?usp=sharing. It'll help to have these materials handy.

    Thanks!

  • Racists Anonymous, Louisville Meeting #1

    Online event

This meeting of Racists Anonymous is open to anyone, anywhere who's willing to look at the racism we carry inside ourselves and to own it, uproot it, and replace it with anti-racist attitudes and behaviors. Experience with the 12 Steps is helpful and NOT required for this work.

We follow the format and use the literature offered by Racists Anonymous, a global fellowship modeled after Alcoholics Anonymous. Consistent with that tradition, we keep the focus on our own recovery from addiction to racism -- conscious and unconscious. There's more about RA at rainternational.org.

The Wednesday morning (Eastern Time US) RA meeting grew out of an RA step study group that formed in the summer of 2020. Louisville Meeting #1 is a weekly, confidential discussion meeting. At some point in the future, we may co-create other, additional formats for RA topics -- such as once-a-month speaker meetings, step study meetings and the like -- always maintaining anonymity and keeping the focus on ourselves.
